Jack Denton was the Father of the AZ RV Industry
  • Flagstaff KOA owner and operator 1967 – 2012
  • Charter member of the National and Arizona campground owners associations
  • Officer and board member of Arizona RV Association for over 30 years
  • Leader in the creation of the national Scenic Byways program and AZ Welcome Centers
  • Activist for the private camping industry: National and State legislative issues, the competition from public campgrounds, and the securing of reasonably priced insurance programs
  • Innovator who adopted and showcased various green initiatives
  • Award Winner: Pioneer Award (National ARVC); President’s Award (KOA) – just a sampling of his awards
  • Long-time volunteer participant with AT&T Telephone Pioneers of America, Rotary International, and the American Legion

Jack Denton loved the campground/RV industry. For 45 years, he gave his wisdom, time, and energy to promote and to support the other owners and operators. ArizonaOHA intends that this award recognize people / organizations that contribute to the industry and demonstrate the leadership that Jack did.

ArizonaOHA is looking for nominations of people or organizations whose contributions to the hospitality industry merit recognition and who have demonstrated sustained service to the outdoor hospitality industry.
